This is a case study of an 89-unit retirement home in Middletown, CT that received a Low Income Multifamily Energy (LIME) loan from Capital for Change, a program in partnership with CT Green Bank. 95% of building residents have incomes below 80% area median income. The age of the building and need to replace equipment inspird Middletown Heritage Associates to look into a set of comprehensive energy efficiency improvements. They worked with Trane, Inc over two years to develop a strategy and budget for those upgrades.
